Between the bright colours, the numbers, and the songs, this toy is one of the best learning toys I've seen. It speaks clearly, and has a lot of great features that kids love! I almost want one for myself!

This toy arrived without any instructions, so I called the company that we purchased it from (Back to Basics Toys) and they said they would get us the instructions before Christmas. They never did and never have since. We put batteries in and the thing basically SCREAMED at us so I called Back to Basics Toys again to ask how to contol the volume since we didn't have any instructions. Guess what? You can't control the volume. IT JUST YELLS ALL THE TIME. We sent it back, with any luck they will credit us back our money.

I am a preschool director and am very familiar with Constructive Playthings as a wonderful source of educational products. I ordered for Christmas the Interactive Amazing Dinosaurs for my 4 year old grandson who is very interested in learning about dinosaurs. He played with it once then it stopped working. His parents replaced the batteries but it still did not work. I contacted Constructive Playthings and they immediately sent a replacement. We opened the package, turned it on, it made one sound, some lights blinked then it stopped. A reset button on the back said "If unit stops from operating press reset button once". We pressed it, the toy said one sentence then quit working again. We did this several times but this toy just does not work. There is a light that does not go off. I now have two toys to return and a very disappointed grandson. Do you think that this toy has a problem????

We gave this to our 4 year old grandson for Christmas and he also received something from Leapster. He plays with both an equal amount of time. Some days it's one and some days it's the other and some days it's none.

The pegs don't stack easily on top of each other as well as on the yellow board. This yellow board is made of soft plastic and is not stable on surfaces. They may be more fun when threading a cord through them, but stacking proves difficult even for adult.

This was a X-mas gift for a 4 year old. Not much to hold his attention. No lights or interaction besides pressing the buttons. He enjoys pressing the buttons, but you get the same info everytime. No variation in information presented. Each country is delivered in the same voice, in the same rythem, the same intonation. Only thing that changes is the numbers and names. Sounds like listening to the automated customer help voice.

He has picked up some of the information about various countries, but it just doesn't hold his attention.

Probably better suited for someone who has the patience to sit and listen.

Okay after reading all the great reviews I went today and bought this for my 4 year old daughter. She absolutley loves it. There is only one set back I have these small rubber feet on the back to prevent from scratching have to be glued in better. They fell out and my daughter for some reason decided to stick it in her ear we spent the entire night in emergency. Otherwise greatest toy ever, she even played it while we were in the emergency room. Just wanted to give you a heads up if you have small children just remove them first. We already have the smartridges from the original.

My 3 yr old son watched PBS Super Word program almost every weekday and we found this thing. After we bought it, my son was very excited but after playing it for a few days he never touch it again.

The major problem is with the dark, small screen/display, exactly as many others have described in their reviews.

My daughter who was 5 months old when I bought this ball, didnt like this ball. She does take it and try to play with the small ribbon ends and the knots which the worm has. I found some black strings in her stools, which are actually the threads of this toy which come out from the knots and she swallowed those, as she is exploring everything with her mouth. I should have bought something interesting with $ 13. This toy is not worth.

My son got this toy for his birthday when he turned 4. He is almost 5, and loves it more every day! He can sit for a long time and play with this. He knows so many of the facts about the dinosaurs, and quizzes us! He also is learning how to answer true and false questions because of this toy.
